F.A.Q.

What types of photography services do you offer?

I offer a wide range of photography services, including family photography, extended family photography, portrait photography, newborn photography, wedding photography, some event photography, and more. I specialize in capturing meaningful moments and creating stunning visual stories. Take at a look at my pricing page and send me a message!

How do I book a photography session with you?

Booking a photography session is easy. Simply reach out to me through my website (contact page) and let me know the type of session you're interested in. I'll guide you through the process and together we will find a convenient date and time for your session.

Can we choose the location for our photo shoot?

Absolutely! The location plays a big role in making your photos feel personal and unique. I have a list of favorite spots that I often recommend—these locations photograph beautifully and are close to home so we can make the most of our time together.

If you have a location in mind, I’m happy to consider it! I just ask for enough notice so I can visit ahead of time to see if it will work well for your session. If the location is farther away than I normally travel, there may be a travel fee.

How long does a typical photo session last?

Most sessions last about an hour. That’s usually the perfect amount of time to capture a variety of groupings, poses, and candid moments without anyone feeling rushed. If we need a little extra time, especially for larger groups, little ones, or special circumstances. We can adjust as needed to make sure we get all the shots.

How long does it take to receive the final edited photos?

My turnaround time is typically 1–10 weeks, depending on the type of session and the time of year. Alongside photography, I’m also a full-time mom to six wonderful (and very busy!) boys, so most of my editing happens in the quiet evening hours.

While I always aim to deliver your photos as quickly as possible, sometimes life’s little priorities take the front seat. My goal is to give you not just fast delivery, but beautifully edited images you’ll treasure—so they’re always worth the wait.

What happens if the weather is unfavorable?

Here in beautiful Maple Valley, Washington, the weather can be a bit unpredictable. Eespecially depending on the season.

I’m always keeping an eye on the forecast leading up to your session, and sometimes that means we need to make a last-minute call to reschedule.

Cold weather usually isn’t a problem, but if it’s raining, I can't take my camera out, so we will typically pick a new date that works for everyone.

While it can be a little frustrating, flexibility is key, and I’ll work with you to make sure we have the best possible conditions for your photos.

How should we dress for our session?

I always say, start with mom’s outfit and build from there. When everyone coordinates around one main look, the photos feel more put-together without being “matchy-matchy.”

Try to stay away from super bright or neon colors, which can be distracting in photos. Soft neutrals, earthy tones, or subtle pops of color work beautifully. And most importantly, choose outfits you feel comfortable and confident in, so you can relax and enjoy the session.

How many pictures will we receive?

The exact number depends on the type of session, but I love to give you a big variety.

On my pricing page, you’ll see the average ranges for each session type: 60–70 for family sessions, 20–30 for individual portraits, and so on.

In reality, you’ll often get a little more than that because I can’t resist sharing all the little moments that make your gallery feel full and complete.

Do you do newborn photos in our home?

Possibly! If your home has good natural light and a neutral, uncluttered space, especially in the nursery, then it can be a lovely setting for newborn photos.

If not, I often recommend in-hospital sessions, which can be just as sweet and meaningful (and don’t require tidying up while you’re recovering!).

How do newborn in-hospital photos work?

We’ll pencil in your due date, but of course, babies run on their own schedule.

When your little one arrives, let me know as soon as possible. I’ll plan to come first thing in the morning while you’re still in the hospital so we can capture those fresh, cozy first moments together.
